WIRELESS CHASSIS / TRAILER TRACKING

Security and Fleet Management

You’ll never have to worry about changing batteries because FMS's rugged GPS trailer unit utilizes a patented

solar-powered unit that is self contained and easy to install. The unit can mount on the chassis or on the nose

of the trailer.  The unit has built in and external monitoring cababilities including two temperatures and two open

door / loaded switches. An optional 3 axis impact detection sensor is also available.

Easy access to data and mapping

Communication

FMS solar-powered cellular-satellite systems transmit over the growing GSM cellular network using GPRS

(General Packet Radio Service). This North American network currently covers 98% of populated areas

giving the unit instant connectivity. Quad-band capability allows connection to any and all cell networks.

FMS solar-powered full satellite systems use the ORBCOMM network for true worldwide coverage.

Tracking challenges

Today’s shippers are looking for more than just RFID location reporting for their mobile assets. They want to

know where a chassis / trailer is regardless of whether it is at a port, on a train, or on the road. Plus they also

want to monitor the trailer for health and security reasons. This needs to be accomplished with no outside

power source available.

The FMS solution

Fleet information is easily accessible on-line .

where your password-protected account provides tabular reports. A report builder is available to

construct custom reports to get the information you need. Our interactive maps, powered by Microsoft Virtual

Earth, shows the location and status of your chassis / trailer along with local roads, towns, and waterways.

Aerial views are available and can provide valuable real world views of locations. Data updates every hour to

every minute makes it easy to track your assets, pinpoint an event location, and quickly notify the appropriate

security personnel if a problem develops.

FMS can also transfer information directly to a customer’s computer system through XML web services,

allowing customers to integrate the data with existing fleet management software.

FMS's manufacturer designs and builds its equipment from the ground up to insure that it meets the

highest standards. Our accelerometers, temperature sensors and security systems have logged over

300 million miles and have saved our customers millions of dollars through reduced claims and

improved fleet efficiency. Durable, tested technology and low maintenance means quicker return

on your investment and savings that last day after day, year after year.

Rapid ROI

FMS has very competitivly priced equipment and some of the best rates on monitoring

in the industry. Team that with some of the best leasing rates ROI becomes "return of

investment" instead of "return on investment". FMS has complete monthly leasing and monitoring

packages below $30.00 total per month. With $5.00 fuel becoming a reality survival of

fleet income demands accountability and totally accurate data to enable correct decisions.

Any forward thinking fleet management team knows there is no room for guessing or waste

in fleet operations.  Tracking systems and maintenance software are no longer a luxury

they are an absolute necessity.

Over the air features

The  GPS tracking and monitoring unit can update its many parameters over-the-air from your

desktop. Some of these parameters include call in times, temperature thresholds, and impact settings. This gives

you the flexibility to get the information you need. The unit can also be reprogrammed over the air so the

equipment will not go obsolete and reduces support costs. The Gps units have the built in intelligence to give you a

low total cost of ownership.

Alarm reports

The  unit is an event based reporting system. The unit will constantly monitor the sensors and will report if

an alarm condition is reached. The message is sent immediately as a text message to a cell phone or pager.

The message will also appear on the website.

Key Trailer Tracking Benefits

  • Worlwide coverage
  • Recover lost trailers

“Asset tracking is an investment that has paid off. We were able to recover an expensive, and very important, asset because of the tracking capabilities. We are very happy.”

Mike , Operations Manager

If you and your customers rely on your trailers for shipments and safe transportation, you need a FMS trailer tracking solution.

Trailer tracking is becoming one of the most important technologies available to the trucking and transportation industries. Why? Because the added security, real-time information and customer service benefits provide unparalleled ROI.

 Trailer tracking solutions

What does my company gain from trailer tracking?

The benefits are numerous:

  • Optimize trailer utilization
  • Reduce theft and loss
  • Increase customer satisfaction
  • Keep track of preventative maintenance

Why trailer tracking is so important

Trailers are often left unattended for days and sometimes weeks. It's important to ensure that the trailer is being monitored while unattended to prevent loss and theft. One of the important characteristics of a successful trailer tracking solution is a robust solar solution that can ensure GPS updates continue while the trailer is unattended and untethered.

Trailer Tracking Management Reports

FMS trailer tracking solutions provide numerous management reports through the FMS fleet management application. This powerful, easy-to-use, online application gives you the information you need to better manage your mobile assets
